Reviews of Restaurants:
Del Ray Cafe: Located at at 205 E. Howell Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia, Del Ray cafe is a French organic restaurant that combines fresh organic ingredients, “green” atmosphere, and very open seating (not too crowded, so perfect for conversation.) The service and management were wonderful–and the food was unbelieveable! The portions were well-balanced and perfect for a lighter pallatte, and the meals were beautifully designed (very pretty!) It was such a memorable experience because it was a healthy, organic, dining experience, quiet atmosphere, and very personable staff. I definitely suggest this great cafe for a lunch date!
Jaleo: Located on Crystal Drive (within walking distance of the Concord), Jaleo’s is an upscale Spanish Tapas restaurant and bar. Created by the renowned culinary genius José Andrés, Jaleo’s offers creative and savory dishes in small portions (perfect for sharing!) This is the perfect place to go when you’re looking to try a bit of everything on the menu. The decor, with its warm reds, provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. With its grandiose high ceilings, and tasteful details, Jaleo’s is a beautiful restaurant that will awe you. The welcoming atmosphere, combined with the light cuisine and a delightful staff, is what makes the dining experience all the more worth it. I definitely suggest the sangria while you’re there too!
Nando’s: Located in Pentagon Row shopping center, Nando’s Peri Peri is a great little Portuguese restaurant. Nando’s has a casual, easygoing atmosphere as soon as you walk in. The resturant is filled with some great modern art along the walls, and there is a rustic quality. There is an assortment of sauces to try with your chicken, paired with grilled corn and killer garlic bread. Nando’s offers something for everyone’s tastebuds, from the spicy to the sweeter citrus. You don’t have to be the “adventurous eater” to enjoy this zesty cuisine. I definitely recommend for something looking to try something a little different but not too exotic.
